McCool Creative

McCool Creative offers comprehensive services related to productions in film, theatre, television, music and publishing, including financing and capital raise projects, sales and marketing campaigns, branding, corporate structures, investment structures, proformas, licensing, legal merchandising and other entertainment, media and sports agreements.

We specialize in business philanthropy for artists who need assistance in reaching their target audience. We seek and attract artists who lack the means whether it financial, time allocation or skill set limitations. McCool Creative allows the artist to focus on their strengths. We provide the offloading of the business responsibilities of an artist to provide a sanctum of clarity. Our end game is to develop a platform of stability for the artist; mentally, financially and spiritually in order to freely create.

Leadership and Creative Team

Matthew M. Schwartz

Founder – CEO

Matthew M. Schwartz is an accomplished business professional with deep expertise in sales, marketing, business development, and revenue generation. His diverse career spans multiple facets of business operations, beginning with his tenure at a Fortune 500 company. There, Matthew quickly gained a thorough understanding of corporate functions, laying the foundation for his successful transition into entrepreneurship. At 27 years of age, he co-founded Wireless Source Inc. Widely recognized for his extensive network within both the business and athletic communities, Matthew adheres to the guiding principle: “Do what you say and say what you do.” His ability to cultivate strong, sustainable partnerships is enhanced by his background in IT, software, communications, and relationship management.

Matthew is a proud alumnus of St. John’s University in New York City, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing. As a student-athlete on a full athletic scholarship, he excelled in lacrosse and was honored as an Academic All-American. His contributions were instrumental in leading his team to become the university’s most successful in history.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Matthew has made a lasting impact on the Colorado business community, contributing to job creation and mentoring emerging professionals. Since 2006, he has been dedicated to coaching youth and high school lacrosse players, guiding many to achieve NCAA-level competition. Additionally, Matthew has been a passionate advocate for women’s lacrosse, playing a key role in the development of the Professional Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL), which is set to launch in 2025.

Kalena Peirce

COO, VP of Relationship Development

Kalena Peirce is a dedicated advocate for education with a strong background in higher education administration. Holding a master’s degree in education, she has successfully supported universities in driving enrollment growth, increasing alumni donations, and advancing philanthropic initiatives. A long-time partner of the University of Colorado, Kalena currently serves on the advisory board, where she plays a key role in implementing collective bargaining efforts for staff across the university’s multi-campus system.

Kalena has been instrumental in securing fair pay increases for staff members whose compensation has previously fallen below appropriate pay grades. Her commitment to fostering a supportive and equitable environment extends to her work with us, where she brings a compassionate perspective to every project and addresses the unique needs of our artists. Coming from a family of established artists, Kalena has a deep appreciation for creativity and the arts, which enriches her contributions to our work.

In addition to her expertise in education, Kalena holds a State of Colorado Insurance License, a valuable asset that plays a pivotal role in securing unconventional funding sources for our clients. Through beneficiary tax incentive programs, she helps finance creative projects, ensuring that our clients can access the resources needed to bring their visions to life.

Kalena was also instrumental in securing the approval of the charter in November 2024, which grants more Denver employees access to collective bargaining rights. She works closely with Ronnie Houston, the President of The Teamsters Union, to drive these important initiatives forward, advocating for better rights and working conditions for employees.

Shawn Phillips

Executive Financial Leadership – CFO

Shawn Phillips is a distinguished executive with over twenty years of demonstrated ability in delivering mission-critical results. He possesses outstanding communication and cross-cultural team management skills, which have proven vital in his successful leadership roles. Shawn’s entrepreneurial attitude drives optimal profitability, making him an ambitious team leader proficient in creating strategic alliances with organizational leaders and effectively aligning with and supporting key business initiatives.

Shawn’s expertise spans a comprehensive knowledge of budget administration, business development, and strategic decision-making. With more than ten years of experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), he has adeptly handled all aspects of capital raising activities. As a disciplined and forward-thinking manager, Shawn excels in communication and team building, ready to leverage his extensive experience and drive to pursue new professional challenges.

Shawn is committed to leading with integrity and innovation, continuously seeking opportunities to expand his impact within the financial sector. His proven track record of success and dedication to excellence makes him an invaluable asset to any organization.

Kamari Williams

Social Media and CRM Coordinator

Kamari Williams is a marketing professional and graduate student at the University of West London. With a strong background in data analysis, social media and strategic marketing, Kamari is gaining valuable hands-on experience through his employment with McCool Creative LLC. Under the mentorship of McCool Creative, Kamari is honing his skills in entrepreneurship to either build his own company and become a vested executive at McCool Creative LLC. Kamari has also developed CRM databases to track and collect detailed data, enabling systematic follow-up with various investor classes. This experience has been pivotal in his ability to assist in raising capital and engage with different verticals of investors effectively.

During his tenure as Marketing Manager at one of the leading CRM firms, HubSpot, Kamari successfully helped to grow the newsletter network, increasing subscribers from 2.2M to 3.5M in his first 11 months. He worked cross-functionally to produce webinars, podcasts, and promotional assets. Previously, Kamari worked as an A&R Consultant at 300 Entertainment, advising on release scheduling and artist development. Kamari’s diverse skill set includes expertise in Microsoft Office, CRM software, copywriting, people management, and more. With a focus on strategic marketing and social media, Kamari is committed to driving impactful projects that elevate brand engagement. He lives in New York City when he is not studying abroad.

Steve Miller

Steve Miller is a highly experienced graphic designer with over 25 years of expertise in creating impactful visual work for companies, artists, and individuals. His design portfolio includes award-winning logos, marketing collateral, signage, ads, presentations, and packaging, with notable installations at prestigious National Parks such as the Grand Canyon’s Mather Point (AZ) and the Battle of Little Bighorn Battlefield/Indian Memorial (MT).

In addition to his design work, Steve brings a strong background in sales and marketing, specializing in strategic branding tailored for niche markets. He has worked extensively on capital raise projects within the arts, music, and film verticals, helping elevate brands and create compelling visual narratives that resonate with targeted investors and audiences.
